We’re pleased to introduce Qi 6.1, a focused release that brings a suite of 8 practical enhancements designed to make your day-to-day collections work faster, smoother, and more intuitive. While Qi 6.0 delivered a major set of interface and workflow upgrades, this latest release builds on that foundation and fine tunes key workflows to give users more control over their experience.
A More Personalised Working Environment
Saved Searches
You can now save any search field layout, filter selection, and the data entered in each search field for quick recall later. Whether you’re monitoring new acquisitions, preparing for an exhibition, or checking outstanding loans, your key searches are now just one click away.
Saved Table Layouts
Qi 6.1 allows you to save your preferred table view layouts, making it easy to switch between the information you want to see or that you regularly pull into your Current Fields reports. No more reconfiguring each time you start a new task.
More Flexible Administration and Record Handling
Package Administration
The new global permission to Administer Packages has been added to Teams. Users with this permission can edit any package (including locked ones), reassign ownership to other users, and perform these actions either on individual packages or in bulk. This makes managing packages across your organisation faster and more flexible.
Duplicating Records in a Hierarchy as Children or Siblings
You can now duplicate a record directly into its correct position in the hierarchy - whether as a child record or as a sibling. This is especially useful for archives, series, and multi-part objects, or any content type with a hierarchical layout.
Streamlined Reporting and Media Handling
Downloading Media from a Record
Users can now download media files directly from a content record. When downloading, a list of available resolutions is available for selection, or users can specify a custom resolution.
Report List Improvements
The report list now supports favouriting, sorting, searching by creator or last edited date, and includes customisable help text so users can quickly identify the report they need.
A New Media Uploader
We’ve replaced the media uploader with a more robust version that is resilient to network interruptions such as connection loss, page refreshes, or timeouts. If an upload is interrupted, re-uploading the same file now resumes from where it left off. By popular demand, the “Save Media” button has also been reinstated at the bottom of the page for easier workflow.
Faster Navigation Through Hierarchies
Open an Entire Archive Hierarchy in a Single Click
Hierarchical content types now include an additional icon that lets users expand the entire hierarchy with a single click, saving time and allowing users to access the content that they need quickly and efficiently.
